Quick note on the public tables launch
We've started with heads-up, tournament style, ranked matches. The rating system we're using is Glicko-2, and we're trying ot fine tune it to this style of play. More on that in a different blog post. The launch went well, no major bugs, we're doing about 500-1000 matches a day on a small active user base - so it's a solid start. It is great for new players to learn the game with some free poker action. The ratings keep the tables relatively honest and give a real sense of progress as well.

Something I didn't foresee, but was a pleasant surprise
I started playing a lot more often on Chips of Fury myself!
Initially I built chips of fury to scratch my own itch. It was a virtual chips app when it first launched in 2018. Since then, it has evolved into a full-featured poker app. But somewhere along the way, I myself had stopped playing poker. Developing the app took so much time, that playing recreationally became very rare. Also, life happened, my old poker group is now in different cities. We all got married, had kids, so it's not an activity that fits in the regular programming of life anymore :)
But since public tables have launched, I am able to put in a few games a day when I can find time. The format is short, so you can play a game while waiting in a queue, waiting for your food to arrive at a restaurant, or on commute etc. I've realized I'm not as good a poker player as I thought I was.
Anyway, the rather 'unexpected' surprise from all that is, I'm now using the app every day, and am a user myself again. It feels like 2018 once more in that sense. I am now noticing so many small things that can improve the UX by a notch here and there.
Good news then
I have an OCD for not being able to sit still, if I know something's wrong. So lots of improvements coming your way!
I hope you don't feel shy, please write in with any requests / advice.
We have recently started a public Discord server - you can hop on here as well - CoF Discord. Me and Kirill are usually around to answer all queries.
